Light and Scene Issues

Lights are having sync issues after this and the bridge update. Some lights now respond to scene commands only intermittently. App now also says lights may not be reachable. What is up? Please update app and bridge again. Thanks!

Works great

Ive been using Hue for 6 months now. I have bulbs and color strips. The app works great for me. No crashes. I would give it 5 stars but there needs to be some refining. I would like to see widgets like the hue widget app has but stable. And, I would like to set an auto timer so that a particular light will only stay on for a set time after it has been turned on. Now, I have to manually start the timer. I love the bulbs and strips. Really adds to my houses feel. Wish they were cheaper so I could do my whole house.

Gen 1?

Probably not the best idea to downgrade the app (in name) before the promised next gen app comes out. For one, I initially thought this meant it was now only for gen 1 lights. The icon looks awful too. Heres hoping the next app has better choices than setting lights by photos!

This app is an embarrassment.

Confusing, clunky and prone to crashing. For a product that was at least one time featured on Apples website, Hue lights have third-rate software. Smart bulbs are only as smart as the interfaces that control them. This one is embarrassingly poor.

Hue app version 1

The app allows me to turn on and off my lights and its nice how it has the Siri voice control with it as well as I prefer to use that most of the time or use the widgets so I dont have to open the app so I would say that the app itself does what its intended for but it is very difficult when you try and setup another device or if you had to rebuild your device and then get everything set back up like it was. Also the new icon is terrible. The original one is far better. I hope in the newer version some of these things are fixed and some new features are added like some of the other third party apps have like sound syncing with music etc.

Dont Update App or Firmware

App and firmware update made it impossible to connect to bridge, therefore we currently cant control any of our bulbs.

Never an issue until update

App can no longer find bridge after updating to gen 1 app. Please fix.

More like a downdate.

Will not update the bridge software and from the other reviews Im glad it didnt.

Fix the frigging APP!

Now my internet light is on constant blink! Its unable to hold a connection & ALEXA finding the bridge is IMPOSSIBLE!!! Why are people constantly fixing what AINT broken???

Downgraded the app

I had just started setting up my Hue system and was excited that I could reach it outside of my home network. After the bridge and app update, guess what!? Unable to reach the bridge now! Great an app update that makes things worse. Doesnt anyone beta test updates before release. Is this what I can expect from Philips going forward!? If so, Ill look for another option with a company that has there stuff together. Terrible design for the app icon as well

connection error

can not connect to the bridge

No Bridge Connection!

This update has bugs. My lights were working quite fine until now.

The haters are hipsters.

I love this app. I have had no problems with it. The ppl here who think it has gotten somehow worse due to the name change are insane.

Basic funcionalities

Compared to other Hue apps, it seems like Philips hasn’t done the best job it could. The app works fine, but it could be a thousand times better in terms of user interface and functionalities.

DONT DOWNLOAD THIS UPDATE

If you load this update it will kill your connection to the Internet. The third light on the bridge will blink meaning no outside connection. If you use IFTTT all your recipes will be broken! Come on Philips! You can do better than this!

Control lights with films and music via AirPlay

The app needs different light animations and sync lights with music. Other than that app needs UI design improvements. The app also has Turkish language characters are missing issue. (Localization)

Continues to be horrible!!!

Its amazing really... a massive global corporation like Philips apparently cant hire programmers who actually know how to create a decent app! After all these pointless updates, they STILL cant figure out how to make the Alarms & Timers page scroll smoothly. God help you if you have more than one page of alarms and timers like I do... scrolling that page up or down is literally painful to watch! It lags and sticks and stutters. And yet they have time to release an update that changes their app icon from color to black & white. Brilliant! Especially when you consider that the app is called HUE... you know... HUE, as is COLORS! So lets represent an app thats all about COLORED light bulbs by giving it a monochrome icon. Wow! Come on Philips. Weve invested a bloody fortune in your hardware. The least you can do is show some respect in return by getting your act together and creating a useful, smooth working app!
