New hue bridge 2.0

Its a good product but Siri is really not that good yet. Besides that I really like the System

Buggy as hell

Software update cant tell if I am on the latest version or its downloading an update (downloading an update, well let you know... Then nothing). 2 of 3 bulbs report being unreachable even after changing the zigbee channel and having all lights blink... Argh

Bridge / App issue

Not sure what happened with the recent firmware, but the lights now do not change to a colour permanently and switches back into a white light.

Too many bugs..

Got the HomeKit bridge. Using the app but for whatever reason when I go to "green" for my lights it defaults somehow to like only a yellow tinge. Please fix!

Needs serious work

Finds my lights fine. But fails in the following: - cannot group lights unless you create a scene from individual bulbs, - cannot switch from one scene to another-have to turn all off, then new scene-otherwise I get some weird mix of previous and current scene - Siri never reliable unless simple on or off command. Cannot name new scenes anything more than simple one word name or Siri unable to recognize - does not work with data-unable to turn lights on unless on wifi with cell phone, therefore cannot turn lights on before I get into my house unless I put them on an alarm-not practical if you arrive home at very different times -lights are numbered-unable to change numbers, resulting in a very confusing lineup once I rearrange location in list to coincide with my house and rooms -Impossible to see scene names as letters are white-unless all lights are off, very difficult to see any names type is too small on scene names-need ability to increase font size and colour as well as background color when not using light re pie or photo All in all, if I wasnt very computer literate, this would have been a very quick return to the store with the lot of it. Come on Philips and Apple-get your act together-youre both better than this. These are GREAT lights, with a good system. But work out these small, irritating issues or youre going to lose the market.

Dont force me to buy a new bridge!

Why are you intentionally not letting me use HomeKit with my previous bridge?!

Horrible app

Its confusing, buggy, unreliable and really frustrating. Ive lost track of how many times Ive had to redo my lighting setup because of this garbage software.

Great system!

Weve recently upgraded to the new hub. Its nice being able to control the lights with Siri. Weve encountered the odd glitch but Apples HomeKit code is the likely culprit here. I do wish the Hue app included the capability to manage HomeKit Rooms and Zones but the Elgato Eve app fills this role for me quite nicely.

Unable to control lights when away

Ever since the last update, I am unable to control my lights when Im not home. The app will only work when I am connected to the wifi. Please fix! Thanks

Terrible app

Does Philips actually test their apps , the geofencing is incredibly buggy , app does not run in the back ground , unable to use remotely come on guys get it together, hire a new app development team

Very happy but I want more

Every bit of it has worked for me. I have the 2nd gen bridge where you can use Siri, works fantastic. I tell Siri to make the living room blue and she does just that, I would like to be able to create scenes that flicker. For instance I have a fixture in my unusable fireplace that I would love to make flicker between red and orange just by saying "Siri, turn on fire lights". Or or or, what about "hey Siri, turn on dance party" and the whole house starts strobing. Huh? Just saying, million dollar ideas here.

Update makes the app crash!!!!!

The hues system is absolutely fantastic, the app has improved drastically and never crashes. With that being said I think the addition of "zones" would elevate this product. When you go into the side menu. "Zones" should appear. there should be a add button on the top right, and a list of your created zones in the middle. You make all the zones you need, then when you need different lights in different rooms of your house in a different hue, you can go into the zone you created and choose the scene you want to activate. This would be really helpful for people who have added to their collection and have hue bulbs in different rooms. If your partner is sound asleep in the bedroom, and you wake up needing to use the bathroom "zones" would allow you to have the "bedroom zone" off and the "bathroom zone" to be on low, to be easier on the eyes at night.

fine app but..

Maybe turn off or on with force touch?

Sunrise Alarm Similation

I cant believe Phillips has not added a sunrise simulation to Phillips hue. The apps that do exist for this dont work well. This functionality should be included in app. Shouldnt have to go buy a separate wakeup light just for this

Timers in widget

Would be great if it was possible to add timers to the widget so they could be started easily.

Lack of Balance

The app is somewhat acceptable, but not great. Philips did not appear take the opportunity to balance good hardware with good software , in this case the software that heavily influences customers opinion of the Hue product line. There is a ton of potential for what is app could be and do. Hopefully they will re-think the app.

Frustrated

I get the error message "lost bridge connection" several times a day! Getting extremely frustrated with this crap! At this point the app is useless. If I could give negative stars, I would.

Amazing technology, with an anemic app...

I love my Hue bulbs. I hate the app. Do Philips employees even use these bulbs? I have over 30 bulbs, hub, remotes, and this app needs work. Features desperately required: Voice control for "regions". "Set Master lights to 50", "Set office lights to 100", "Set kitchen lights to Beach mode" Without this, the app and lights are unmanageable and disappointing. I love this system. LOVE IT. But the app was created by people not thinking about how users use the lights. #UsabilityFail. I am available as usability consultant, if Philips needs help. Please make this product great! I am heavily invested.

Works as intended…

…but it desperately needs the ability to group bulbs by fixture/room. Update: theres no way to control Lux bulbs except individually, through sliders. Are you kidding me?

Good but not compatible with living colors ?

I have to ask, does this app ever plan to support the living color lights? I cant ever have the app detect them so I have to return and exchange for the hue ones
