Hi Philips, please remove the gen2 notification. Its anoying for iPad users that can not use gen2 in landscape view. (Fix wallmount)

This is the most terrible update of any app. Ever. Its truly horrific on the iPad, it can only be used vertically (doesnt rotate with the iPad), ALL MY OLD SCENES AND SETTINGS ARE GONE, it seems to have been designed for near-blind people, setting up scenes is not possible without an extremely elaborate sequence, after an hour, I still cant figure it out, its really, really bad and Philips Hue on the whole is now a terrible piece of equipment. Unbelievable that after (youd expect) a lot of thinking and developing, the conclusion is: Yep: this is the best we can do. A disgrace and 100% fail.

It is not a new feature to tell me to upgrade to gen 2 every time I open the app! When gen 2 supports iPad and not having to recreate all the scenes it will be worth considering.

You remove support for the iPad version, replace it with Portrait-view only iPhone version and call this progress? Cant hide my disappointment

please restore original app. the new version starts fresh and requires all previous settings to be manually input again, costing users many, many unnecessary hours of rework. cannot "group" lights in a room or scene for exact colour matches. unbelievable downgrade from the original app, which wasnt perfect, but was functional and much more practical than this. note to users, do not delete your old app before this app is "fixed."

this new app doesnt auto rotate which is frustrating. The old one does. Please fix!!!!!

Please do yourself a favour and stay on the old version, even if its not the best its definitely a 1000 times better. Its a huge step back.

Seriously, stop reminding people of your gen 2 app EVERY TIME THIS APP STARTS. This is especially irrating given that gen 2 does not offer much of the functionality of gen 1, including Watch support.

U think if you could design lights like these u could design. Decent software to run them. I dont know what is worse. This app or the Sunn app, disco light.......all crap Beginning to regret buying this crap

The update has rendered this app near useless. As others have mentioned there are problems with rotating and the loss of all scenes and settings. This version is so bad I am forcing Philips to give me a refund for the bulbs and I am sending them back. What is the point of a product that is supported by such a horrible app. The development team and management related to this app should all be fired!!!!

After this update , I uninstalled and looked for the real app. I could not believe this was the actual "upgrade", it is now just iPhone, no "real" iPad support. Wow

Creative missteps happen. Sometimes functionality is sacrificed for design and vice versa. None of that happened here. This is boondoggle on par with Apple maps. An utterly useless app thats as ugly as it is slow. Did it take one upwards failing corporate stooge or a team of complete cretins to bungle something this badly?

Hardware and lights are solid and functional. The weak point is the apps. This app has flakey and not reliable alarm time triggering. Color options are limited and you need a bunch of different app downloads to do most of the basic functions. And why no simple location based sunset/sunrise function? The system is worthwhile to me for room mood setting but the power of wifi control is limited. Even memo allows for easy web based setting.

Everything works great except for Siri voice control, it keeps saying another user is already paired and to ask user for permission, problem is Im the only user and dont know how to ask myself for permission. Siri voice control worked before but not anymore. Update: need to use the new app to reset Siri voice control and re-enter bridge code, voice control now works fine eleven after deleting the new version app...which is difficult to use.

I cant access my lights while traveling so I cant tell if theyre on or off. Whats the point of having timers and away settings if you cant access them from afar?

I downloaded Gen2 a week ago. After a week of trying to get close to ease of original app and getting fed up I figured Id see if this is available to go back to. I had the old app for a year and it was SO easy and simple. Ive bought TWO other apps this week trying to get close to what the old Hue app did for free. Deleted both. What a waste of time!! The old scenes I created dont carry over. The new ones- you get them set up and they revert back to factory settings (bright % and color saturation wheel) every time they are turned off daily. You can only choose colors for lights based on pictures they provide or use my own. So if I want a pink scene I have to find a pink picture in exact shades I want. Theres no color wheel like original app had to customize your room scene... What exactly is the improvement?? You wouldnt even have this product in your house if you didnt want to specifically control the brightness and color scenes in your home... So why take away all of these features?!?! Ridiculous. This is the first review I have ever written! Ever! Im so frustrated

This notification that comes out every time you open or come back to the app is so annoying, stop trying to announce the gen 2, we know is out, but it is bad, even worst if you are on iPad.

I was so excited the had finally created a new app. It was awful. Impossible to figure how to make scenes using individual lights. Forced me to use the new Rooms feature, then made its own decisions about the color of each light. Also decides how bright or dim they should be and and you CAN change it....but you cant save those. The old one lacked features, but the user interface on this one is actually a step backwards. Plus if you upgrade, if you try to use the gen 1 app (it says you can have both) it will load, but just forces you to use the new one.
